Tim led us from Sandy Beach. 12 of us - 6 decemviri (TTT, Wayne, Gus, Mark B, Bob Maxey, Alf) - and Jim Long, Joe Jones (his neighbor & driver going through Mather for his first time.), Cotton, Doctor Bob, Wes M, & Glen J
An NPS helicopter looped above our S.B. launch, followed by Tim's seeing that we got relaunched into S Turn - no flips (3.34 ft). Mark led the more vigorous paddlers down Virginia Chute, back up Center, and back down Maryland. Lunch at Offutts and then Mark modeled the far left hand diagonal slot at Yellow Falls - and we were off the river by 3 or so. Good day. Saw cormorants drying their wings, an osprey at Offuts flying away with a large fish, Calleva in rafts at the S Turn - and another group with smaller kids on SUP boards above Scotts Run.
