Tim Tilson writes:  We had the following 7 for the Cacapon: Wayne, Ron S and his buddy Diesel Dave, Dana, Barb, “Cotton” Bob and Tim.  Left Manassas and got to the take out 1.5 hours later.  The trip was pretty uneventful but warm, beautiful.  We gave the land owner at the put-in $20 for 8 boats.   Kudos to Barb for suggesting.  We expect a group pix soon.

Highlights:  We saw a merganser, and a young bald eagle. Ron S saw two 5’ water snakes on the last drop.  Cotton knows his birds.  Combined with John S, who knows his native plants, we could have a seminar on the river.  Cotton also suggested we rope in Carter to give us a running commentary on the talus, scree, mountains etc.

We also ran into a group camping, Southern Maryland WW Pioneers, whom I think I've seen before.  A bunch of guys with 10 boys.

When we got back to Manassas at 6:00 pm, there was still a vehicle for the Maury crowd.
