From four the night before, our numbers swelled to 14 by the time we put on.  Two swims - one at the beginning and the other just after the Room of Doom.  We had the pleasure of accompanying two younger folks who'd driven up from Waynesboro and Culpeper to try LF for the first (and a second, and possibly a third time!) Joe Jones and Kevin Smith, who also took on the Beaver Slide as well.  Most of us stayed on the Maryland side for the Big One, but several intrepid souls scooted down the Virginia side.
Half of our group took out at Dalacarlia Intake to loop back - and do it again (2 head).  Tim at the head of the pack, we were [incl. the aforementioned two] Gus, John S, Gary, Joseph (the latter two picked up en route), Jenny & Kim, Howard, Al Cassel, Bob Maxey, Wayne, and Alf.
We must count ourselves blessed to have such a WW resource so close by.

Six of us had an enjoyable, uneventful run down the Yough at a typical summer level, Ohiopyle = 1.86'/905cfs.  Paddlers included Carrie Singer, Valerie Rasmussen, Barb Brown, Jean Osteen, David Cottingham (all K-1s) and Ron Knipling (OC-1).  There were a few raft and other paddling groups on the river, but mostly we had it to ourselves.  The highlight of the day was at the take-out: a group of college students taking a course in outdoor recreation leadership carried our boats up the hill for us!  Our evening repast at Penn Alps was bland but wholesome and hardy.   Ron Knipling
